The Grove Cafe - one on Fillmore St. one on Chestnut St. (Marina District). Great coffee shop, serving fresh orange juice, draft beer. You'll see many locals here taking advantage of wireless access.
The Crepe House - Another favorite of ours! 1755 Polk St $ Cash only.
Squat and Gobble - great breakfast spot in famous Haight/Ashbury District. These are recently popping up all over town.
Moose's - great Sunday brunch, reservations required

Frascati - intimate spot, with a recent change in owndership

FESTIVALS:
- Hardly Strictly Bluegrass - outstanding Bluegrass festival in Golden Gate Park (free)
- Union Street Festival - beer gardens get crowded, but this typically kicks of the festival season
- North Beach Festival - this can get crowded quickly, but is typically fun.
- Haight Ashbury
- Fleet Week - traditionally Columbus Day weekend. Find a good spot in the rooftops or parks for a great airshow
